Registered nurses and family support specialists, known as home visitors, provide free support and information on many topics of interest to pregnant women and families with children up to age 5 in their own homes or other comfortable settings. These include attachment and bonding, breastfeeding, nutrition, toddler tantrums, potty training, and health issues.

Home visitors can also help steer parents toward community resources for food, housing, employment, baby care, and health care.
