Friends of Youth provides supportive case management and rental assistance throughout the Puget Sound area to young adults and young families who are prepared to thrive in permanent housing. Case managers meet with participants in their units weekly to provide support and assistance in building life skills, achieving educational and employment goals, and overcoming barriers to self-sufficiency. The combination of these services provides formerly homeless young adults with the ongoing support needed to remain permanently housed and live independently.
Friends of Youth’s Francis Village facility offers studio, one, and two bedroom units for single young adults and young families. This location offers secure access, on-site parking, and laundry facilities. Common areas include an on-site computer center with internet access, a children’s playroom, and a rooftop garden. Conveniently located in Totem Lake, Kirkland, with easy access to bus lines, Francis Village is close to both shops and medical facilities.
The Rental Assistance program is located at scattered sites in East King County. Friends of Youth develops and maintains partnerships with independent landlords identified by participants. Participants receive a short-term subsidy along with supportive case management services designed to ensure their ability to take over the full rent amount at the completion of the program.
