The Verdant Health Commission funds a wide range of programs that empower people in South Snohomish County to make healthy decisions and get the care they need to stay well.
For nearly half a century, we served the health needs of our community by managing the local community hospital. We are now focused on investing in innovative programs that will make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of South Snohomish County residents, with many free or low-cost education and prevention classes taking place at the Verdant Community Wellness Center in Lynnwood.

Grant-funded Programs
Verdant invests in community programs in many ways, including by making one-time or multi-year grants to community groups, nonprofits, government agencies, and others organizations. These grants can serve our community in different ways – some are intended for all residents and others serve targeted groups within our community, such as youth or older adults.

Grant Application Info
Verdant accepts funding applications from community groups, nonprofits, government agencies, and others on an ongoing basis, and it also issues Requests for Proposals for specific health needs as determined by the Board of Commissioners.

Verdant Community Wellness Center
The Verdant Community Wellness Center opened in 2015 and serves our residents in multiple ways. In addition to housing Verdant staff, the building hosts free or low-cost classes, workshops, speakers, and meetings that support the well-being of our community. It also hosts a North Sound 2-1-1 Community Resource Advocate who is available to meet one-on-one with community members who need information and referrals to health, human service, and basic need programs.

Public Hospital District Info
The elected officials of Public Hospital District No. 2, Snohomish County, govern the Verdant Health Commission. The Board of Commissioners meets monthly to conduct the business of the hospital district during public meetings.
