Ensuring a smooth transition for refugees and asylees in the Greater Seattle Area
Mission
The Diocese of Olympia’s Refugee Resettlement Office (RRO) helps refugees and asylees achieve economic self-sufficiency. Our mission is accomplished through resettlement, job placement activities, and business development programs that promote self-employment.
How We Help
We are here to help. At RRO we offer many different social services that are available for refugees that have just arrived in the U.S. and for those who have been here longer. We offer classes to help you learn and practice English, and job readiness workshops to help you get a job. We also are able to provide support for refugees and asylees who want to start a business, buy a home, or go to school.
Donations
Though we do not ask for fees for most of the services we provide, they depend on the generosity of individuals in the community, like you, to provide items for people in need.
Household Items for Incoming Families
For each incoming refugee family, we provide a starter kit of household essentials. If you have any of these supplies that are in good condition, we would appreciate the donation! Your support helps defray the cost for a family.
Volunteer
Volunteers are vital to the success of many of our clients. Clients often need one-on-one assistance to develop their English skills, work on their resumes, and organize their small businesses. Due to the many program demands placed on the RRO staff, they are not always able to spend as much time as they would like with the clients. That is why volunteers are an important part of our organization.
