VOCATIONAL SERVICES PROGRAM
CREATING PATHWAYS TO JOB SUCCESS
Our Vocational Services Program offers a wide range of services to individuals with disabilities, including paid community-based assessments, internships, job placement and job coaching – here at Skills Inc. and with other employers in the community.
Washington State’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and other agencies refer people to Skills Inc.’s vocational services, where our staff fosters a process of self-discovery and career exploration that identifies clients’ strengths, skills and interests. We help individuals gain a deeper understanding of their abilities and how to market themselves to employers.
JOB SEEKERS WITH A DISABILITY
First, we encourage you to connect with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), a state agency that helps individuals with disabilities obtain and maintain employment. DVR asks each applicant to perform three steps: watch a video, complete a brief self-assessment, and complete an online referral form. It can take up to 60 days for DVR to determine if you are eligible for services so we recommend starting the process immediately.
If you already have a DVR counselor and are interested in receiving employment services through Skills Inc., please ask your counselor to contact our vocational staff, at vocservices@skillsinc.com or call 206-782-6000, to set up a tour.
Another option is to apply directly to Skills Inc. Please view available positions and apply online. If you need a job immediately, WorkSource may be able to help you.
