HOUSING PROGRAMS

Everett Housing Authority currently assists close to 4,000 households, largely comprised of working families, seniors on fixed incomes, and persons with disabilities.

Everett Housing Authority is not accepting applications for the Housing Choice Voucher program (Section 8) at this time.

For applicants already on the waitlist, notify the Housing Authority in writing of any change in your mailing address, household composition, and household income. Update your information at our RENTCafé Applicant Portal HERE.


​Program Summary:

  • The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program is the federal government’s major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.
  • Low-income elderly, family, and disabled households pay 30% of their income for rent and utilities.

  • Project based rental assistance is attached to specific housing units that meet Housing Quality Standards.
  • Low-income elderly, family, and disabled households pay 30% of their income for rent and utilities.

​Program Summary:

  • Senior Affordable: Low to moderate income elderly (55+) pay a flat rent that is less than market rent. Eligible households may use a Housing Choice Voucher to help pay rent at specific properties.
  • Senior Subsidized: Low income elderly (55+ or 62+), some properties allow those with disabilities, pay 30% of their income for rent.
